Color Run explodes in Hawthorne
The Hawthorne, NJ, Special Education Parent Advisory Council hosted their fourth annual Color Run on May 4, 2019.
My School Color Run is an untimed fun run/walk featuring a 5K course. Throughout the course participants experienced color splash zones where they were doused with color and at the end celebrated with a final color toss.
Hawthorne SEPAC is an all volunteer organization of parents and guardians of children with special need. The organization identifies and addresses unmet needs of education, health and safety of children with special needs.
We want to continue to work on fostering inclusion for individuals of all abilities. Bringing families from town & nearby communities in such a fun way is a great way to raise funds for our special education program and for the community to bond.
With the monies raised we hope to provide support for the program where funding is needed; whether it be for equipment, sending educators for training & seminars or for activities.
What makes HNJSEPAC 5k Color Run a great success each year is seeing the hundreds of happy faces coming out to support us. We have many families who have made our color run an annual tradition! Some parents have told us this is the event their children look forward to each year now. Our proud, tireless team of volunteer parents who are officers and members of HNJSEPAC make many sacrifices to bring this wonderful event into our community.
