Hawthorne Bears in playoffs

Hawthorne High School Varsity Football team ended its season with a heartbreaking 35-14 loss to Mountain Lakes in the Sectional Championship Friday night.

“I told the team, I know it hurts right now, and it’s gonna hurt, but to do what we did this year was Hawthorne football history. It had not been done in a very long time,” said Coach John Passero, the team head coach.

“We have not played in a Sectional championship since 1987. We haven’t been back since.”
