Passaic County Sheriff Richard Berdnik committed suicide today in a Clifton, NJ restaurant.

News 12 New Jersey reports that “he was having lunch at Toto’s Restaurant when he stepped away to use the restroom. It was then that patrons heard a loud gunshot. Berdnik was found dead at the scene.”

Here are a few images from when I photograph him at the Paterson Police Athletic League graduation Oct. 1, 2022. My condolences to his family. May he rest in peace.
